Obsessed with…Domino’s new web tool “My Deco”

Today sfgirlbybay posted about the new “My Deco” tool on the Domino website, and so I headed over there to have a peak.  I have to say that I wasn’t optimistic about what I was going to find.  Most of the online decorating “tools” are clunky DIY-style visualizers, but this is like an online folder to store all those great images you love.  And what’s better, be able to search through other people’s deco files for great stuff that you may have missed.  I spent several hours today messing around with it, and found lots of great stuff.  Here’s a glimpse of what I’ve started so far.

If you haven’t already been toying with it (which I suspect many of you have since their website got REALLY slow later in the day), then you should go over and test it out.  There’s lots of great photos to see!!

Rustic Cathedrals…who knew they even existed?!

When I think of beautiful architecture, I rarely think of rustic landscapes or log cabins. And when someone says the word cathedral, I certainly NEVER think of simplicity and beauty of the sort that architectural photographer Richard Davies captured in his travels through rural Russia. This month’s issue of World of Interiors features his stunning photography. These structures are like nothing I’ve ever seen. It seems almost as if someone made them out of old popsicle sticks..and for some reason I feel compelled to own a HUGE print of one of them. If only I could track him down…and afford it.

Here comes spring…and time for enjoying the outdoors with a camera

In today’s Ping Mag, there’s an article called “Play around with a Toy Camera.” It’s an article that tugs at my personal heartstrings because I’m in LOVE with my Holga…as you can tell by going here to see my favorites. Anyways…this got me to thinking about how the weather here in Philadelphia is finally getting warm and feeling like Spring. And what is my favorite thing to do when the weather turns warm?! Head outside with my trusty toy camera and take lots of pics of random stuff that catches my eye.

To celebrate the joy of lomography & spring…I headed over to Etsy to find something eyecatching. And Dripstick’s photography definitely caught my eye. I have a passion for Danish bicycles so…this is awesome. And what other better thing to do when the weather is warm? Head outside on your bike. Head over to Etsy and check out more of Dripstick’s prints.

Flickr Find: Holland 9

Holland-9, originally uploaded by eigen und artig.

Something about the luscious reds of this photo draw me in and make me want to explore. I love the red bottle and depth of field.  Here’s another great one from the same person.  (Note the red bottles and the open shelves in the background.  And we all know how much I love open shelves, right?!)
