Crafty Flea Market-find Upholstery
I’m intrigued. I’ll admit it. The jury is out on whether or not I’d actually style my own home with any of these though. I’ve got to hand it to the people at REcreate, they’ve taken crafty furniture to the next level though. See all their upholstery here.
I’m not gonna lie. I kinda like these kitschy plates.
This Etsy seller (BeatUpCreations) takes antique china and serveware and updates them from Granny to modern-day hipster wall art. This would make a cute (and inexpensive) wall decor statement. Fun for a small bathroom, hallway, or adding to a larger collection of art for a bit of humor. My favorite is this one of R2-D2.
See more whimsical pieces (including a zombie family portrait) at her Etsy shop HERE.
New Artist Series from Book City Jackets
My friend Nishat that I’ve posted about before, is featured in Book City Jackets’ new Artists Edition No. 2 along with Cheeming Boey and Michael Hsiung. BCJ’s mission is to make every book beautiful by creating unique book covers printed on recycled kraft paper. Pretty nifty, right? It reminds me of when I used to do that in middle school…except mine was covered in horrible doodling rather than beautiful art. They’re available at Book City Jackets [dot] com.

For the wine lovers out there…
N’s mom made us a little night light (?) for the kitchen out of a wine bottle from one of her favorite Cabernets. It’s not something that I would consider to be “normally” my style, but I quite like it actually. Maybe I’m just having a real thing for twinkling lights these days. Hmmm….not sure.
Anyways…if you’d like to make one of your own here’s what you do:
1. Save the bottle of that delcious wine you had with dinner last night.
2. Clean it out.
3. Stuff a tiny strand of Christmas lights into it.
4. Decorate it however you’d like to. She used faux grapes & twine
5. Plug it in.
Et Voila! You have a twinkly little wine bottle for your kitchen. It’s a conversation starter.
Art Star Craft Bazaar: Now taking applications for 2008

Art Star is now taking applications for the 2008 Craft Bazaar that is being held at Penn’s Landing on Saturday May 31st (from 11-7pm) and Sunday June 1st (from 11-5pm).
This is definitely one of my favorite local things because of the amount of wonderful (and affordable!) art & crafty stuff you can find there. Last year I wanted to buy one of everything, but finally edited my purchases to one little cup by Little Flower designs & a paint by numbers at someone’s yard sale down the street. If you haven’t been to one of these, you definitely must go this year.
