I’m so excited!  After haunting ebay for weeks, I finally pulled the trigger and purchased two authentic silkscreened Cuban film posters for the living room.  Yay!!  I LOVE THEM!!  I can’t wait for them to get here!!

Wow. Those are magnificent. Especially the one on the right. I recently bought this poster: http://thebirdmachine.com/gallery_detail.php?uid=B6F856&year=2007 and I’m not sure what kind of frame to get. What are you using for yours?

Thank Kyle! I was going to say that yours is pretty awesome too! I love that posters give you so much bang for your decorating buck.

In terms of framing them, I’m a big fan of Ikea’s Ribba frames. They have large poster-sized versions. Sine I don’t consider these really worthy of professional mounting, etc…I won’t bother to treat them like “real” artwork. But I think one of the keys to a poster or any artwork is the matting. Most likely I’ll get a professional mat cut and installed with the Ikea frame so that it looks like I spent a ton of money on them….even though I didn’t. :-)

That’s my own personal money-saving trick. Get an old or cheap frame…but use a nice special-cut mat!
