I’ve never cried over an election…
November 5, 2008
…but there’s a first time for everything. I’ve never been so proud to be an American as I am right now. Thanks for bringing back hope to a country that needs it, Mr President.

It’s just incredible. I am bubbling over:) And it’s a first time in so long, that I truly feel proud to be an American.

I’m so proud too. I’m optimistic that he’ll fix the housing issue and sell my damn house!

I remember several years ago I was out at an event tailgating with a bunch of friends [who all happened to be liberal democrats]. We were grilling out and in a large parking lot with a ton of other people doing the same thing. At one point, one of our friends hung up an American flag from our sunshade… and someone in the group commented asking him why? (This was not a political event by any means.)
My friend replied, “It’s our flag too. I’m taking the flag back! Patriotism doesn’t belong to just one political party, and the flag doesn’t have to belong to just the Republicans.”

I know exactly what you mean. I cried, while smiling, through his whole speech last night. This is such an amazing time to be a voter
